Jaén will host the start of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén

Jáen, as happened in 2014 and 2015, will once again mark the beginning Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén in its tenth edition

The dates before the next edition of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén are being very intense as far as news is concerned. In addition to the dates confirmed, as well as the change of category to Hors Catégorie, it is time to announce the venue that will open the race.

As happened in the 2014 and 2015 editions, Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén will start from the town of Jaén. A city that has lived in first-hand the development of the race throughout its ten editions of history and this year will be protagonist once again in its most special edition.

"It's a very special year for the organization for several reasons, firstly because we celebrate the tenth edition of Andalucía Bike Race. We wanted to relive the race origins, and the capital of Jaén was an important part in the creation and development of one of the best stage races of the worldwide. Also, the riders are looking forward to racing these routes after several years of absence and they will surely enjoy it again ", explains Aitor Jiménez, Events Director of Octagon Esedos.

In addition, it will not only host the start of the race but the second stage will also be held in Jaén. Thus, the first two stages will be a common denominator: Jaén. The union between this tenth edition of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén and Jaén can help on promoting the immense natural heritage of the area, as well as enhance an area with many possibilities

With the route just being profiled, will race mythical areas making a small tribute to previous editions. In the first stage, and that will be a time trial (XCT), we will find the Neveral area, a natural environment next to the city that will link us with the mythical climb of the Pincho to the Jabalcuz peak that has not raced since 2016. In the second stage, stand out the climbing of the Yeti and some descents: All Mountain, Bercho and the descents of Peña del Águila in the Mancha Real zone.

In the third and final stage in the province of Jaén and entering the town of Andújar, we will find three classic trails of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén: the ascent to the Hermitage of the Virgen de la Cabeza, the fun descent of Los Caracolillos and the peak of Madroño.
