"I’m excited to discover a new race with unknown singletrails”

Konny Looser, the current Swiss champion, debuts in the eighth edition of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano

Konny Looser is currently the MTB Marathon (XCM) Swiss champion. The Swiss cyclist will debut in the eighth edition of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano after a 2017 season that has been the most successful of his entire  sports career.

"I’m very excited and eager to make my debut in Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano", explains a Konny Looser who highlights the thrill of competing in this race for the first time. "I'm excited to do a new race with unknown stages and I hope to have a lot of fun on the Andalusian trails", he adds.

This season Looser has changed the way of training because he will have to face most goals in the second half of the year. Even so, the Swiss rider does not give up anything in the most renown MTB stage race in Spain and hopes to be on the podium of some stage.

Looser has a great experience in endurances races and has clear that "it is very important to never forget that in the end, we ride a bicycle because it is what we like and enjoy. So it's capital to be able to do it until the end, hydrating yourself well, keeping well fed and enjoying every moment".

His podiums in the most demanding events around the world have earned him a vital experience when facing challenges such as Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano. "This experience helps me make the right decisions in complicated tactical situations", says Looney before pointing out that "the best skill is mental strength, since it is six days in which you have to take the start no matter the weather. It is important to keep in mind that there are many stages, but it is more important to go on a daily basis and be aware of how your body is doing in order not to demand too much from it".

Konny Looser’s journey to ratify his national title begins on February 25th in   Linare’s individual time trial. Follow Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano to see in what shape he is in.
