“The best is the possibility of racing aling nice singletrails and good people”

Hansueli Stauffer, winner of the 2016 La Rioja Bike Race presented Shimano, will compete in the Andalusian race for the third time.

The Swiss mountain biker will take part in Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano for the third time. “I prefer the individual format, but both formats have their positive aspects”, explains Hansueli who has achieved his best results competing solo.

Although he will not arrive in his best shape since he has began to train for the 2018 season later than when he’s used to, the Swiss doesn’t discard anything: “I’ll go day by day, setting goals as I see how I feel”. Hansueli, who in 2016 was the MTB Marathon (XCM) Swiss champion runner-up, has the national, European and world championship as his main goals this year, as well as the MTB Ultra Marathon (XCUM) European championship.

“The best of Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano is the opportunity to race along nice singletrails and good people”, assures Stauffer. The winner of the 2016 La Rioja Bike Race presented by Shimano has very good memories of his other participations in the Andalusian race and highlights the kindness of everyone around the event, mountain bikers, organisation or fans.

Stauffer knows how to face an event such as Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano. “Recovery is the most important skill without doubt. In a six day race you can’t begin giving it all, you have to improve day by day and that’s how the fun is guaranteed”, concludes the Swiss mountain biker.

Hansueli Stauffer copes best on rollercoaster routes and with technical singletrails, as those that he’ll find in Andalucía Bike Race presented by Shimano from February 25th to March 2nd.
