STAGE 2 detals

Panoramic views and 3 ascents

This stage is located entirely in the southern mountains of Jaén and features three climbs. With 64 kilometres and 2,250 metres climbing, it stands out for the incredible panoramic views that will be enjoyed throughout the stage and at the top of the three main climbs. We will find long and stretched outings with some spectacular trial routes that will make all the mountain bikers enjoy.  Here we will find different touches of the authentic Andalucía Bike Race of incredible trails and pure Mountain Bike.

The stage will start by bordering the Quiebrajano reservoir, a spectacular environment that we haven't ridden in since 2015, on the way to the Cortijo de la Ermita fountain in the El Parrizoso area. At kilometre 10 begins the first significant ascent of the stage of almost 6 kilometres with almost 500m of positive height gain up to the 1,300 mark, at the peak of Barbahijar. From there we start a skillful descent until kilometre 20 where we will find another climb on the way to the top of Puerto Poza and Cerro de la Alberquilla, the highest point of the stage with spectacular views of the entire Sierra de Jaén. At kilometre 38 we take the GR-7 path through a beautiful ravine to the Peña del Palo. The last 20 kilometres of the stage will follow the tone of the stage with small climbs and much more pleasant descents to start the final descent through the Solana de Molina and the Ladrones gorge, reaching the end of the stage at the Quiebrajano reservoir dam.
