José Antonio Hermida presents the edition 2012 in Córdoba

Mountain Bike World Champion 2010 and Andalucia Bike Race´s ambassador, José Antonio Hermida, presented today in Córdoba the second edition of Andalucía Bike Race, that will take place from 26 February to 2nd March between the provinces of Córdoba and Jaén.

Hermida highlighted the importance of the UCI category recently reached, because “those points will be essential for a lot of riders to get a place in London 2012 Olympic Games”.
About his participation last year in Andalucia Bike Race, when he had to abandon because of the physical problems of his partner, he said that, even if that wasn´t what they expected, he comes back this year “willing to win” and “with the aim to be in the front positions”.
Moreover, he showed his “initial surprise” in Córdoba last year, as he discovered “mountains and trails with a special touch and attraction for Mountain Bikers”.

During the presentation, Hermida was joined by Xavier Bartrolí, President of Octagon Esedos; Salvador Hermán, Tourism, Trade and Sports Delegate for the Junta in Córdoba; Miguel Reina, Sports Delegate in Cordoba´s City Hall and Agustín Palomares, Sports Delegate for the Cordoba´s Government.
A video summarizing the stages was broadcasted during the presentation and it was announced that Andalucía Bike Race 2012 has already more than 300 riders in it´s entry lists; even if the registration period is not closed yet.
Also, the official jersey was shown.
Tomorrow, the race will be presented in Jaén; also with José Antonio Hermida as main guest.
