Coloma: The key is in the landscapes of Andalusia, the olive trees, the mountains and the sierras.

The leader of the BH TEMPLO CAFÉS has the Olympic Games in Tokyo in mind, and comes again to Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén to look for points and thus its classification.

With the Olympic Games as a main goal for 2020, which role and what importance does an event like Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén have for you?

It is very important, actually. It will be a good training focused on XC events, very specific and personally, it is an event that I love so much. Being close to the fans who love this sport, both inside and outside the circuits, is very special for me.

What does the change of category for this edition mean for the cyclists who will participate?

It's really important for everyone, but even more so for those riders who are fighting for the overall. The UCI score point has gone up, it is much higher and makes Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén to be at the same level as races like Cape Epic.

Speaking about the tenth edition, what do you think of when they talk about Andalucía Bike Race presented by Caja Rural Jaén?

The first thing that comes to mind is how pioneering this event was in Spain. A reference race at an international level and, obviously, in Spain. Together with La Rioja Bike Race presented by Pirelli.

Which do you think is the key for so many top level cyclists to want to come back year after year?

The key is in the landscapes of Andalusia, the olive trees, the mountains, the sierras... it is a spectacular combination. If we add to all this the character of the people of Andalusia, the most normal thing is that everyone wants to come back.

As a reference of the Spanish MTB, what advice would you give to anyone who comes to participate for the first time?

My advice is to train as much as possible, as it is a demanding and long test. Once they are in competition, they should dose up, start off calmly and adapt their pace to how they evolve. Tiredness builds up and if you don't get to the last stages well, they won't enjoy them.
