The champions will defend their title

Urs Huber and Simon Schneller will team up again after winning in 2021 with Team Bulls.

Team Bulls were without a doubt the most dominant team at the last Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN edition. With three victories in the six stages, they were the strongest team. For the twelve edition, the German team will defend the title won in 2021 and will race with the current champions, the Swiss Urs Huber (36) and the German Simon Schneller (24), as well as the pair formed by XCM legend Alban Lakata (42) and Hansueli Stauffer (34).

"Albanator", three times XCM World Champion, and Stauffer, winner of La Rioja Bike Race in 2016, will be two huge team mates for Huber and Schneller.

Despite what many might think, having won in 2021 doesn't seem to add them any extra pressure. "I don't feel much pressure from our victory in the last edition. This is a new season and we have to work hard again to be at the front. This year it's three months earlier, so it's very different. We will be in good shape, but we won't have many days of racing before Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN. I think we can fight for the podium places", says Simon Schneller.

On the other hand, Huber confesses: "It's not something new for us to start as title holders in a race. On the start line, everything that happened last year is history and we would like to create a new history".

As far as the current edition is concerned, Schneller sees the key to success as follows: "In the first three stages it is important to be close to the front of the race, because the time trial on the fourth stage can define the general classification. After that, it will be difficult to make a big step in the general classification if there are no crashes or technical problems", the german confesses.

Huber, Schneller, Lakata and Stauffer. Four names to make history again.
