A new stage victory for Alleman and Becking.

In the women's category, Janina Wüst and Rosa Van Doorn consolidate the lead with their second consecutive stage.

A day of celebration and festivities in Jaén with the Andalusia Day festivity that was celebrated today in the community. The Andalucía Bike Race caravan said goodbye to the capital of Jaén in a short but intense stage of 40.25 kilometres and 1,395 metres.

In the men's category, Wout Alleman and Sam Becking attacked from the start to move back into the overall lead. Both led the stage from the early stages, giving no options to their rivals. The overall leaders, Andreas Seewald and Marc Stutzmann of Canyon Sidi MTB Team, were the biggest victims of the momentum of the Buff Megamo boys, seeing how little by little the seconds of advantage they had in the classification vanished.

On the ascent to the Mella, ten kilometres from the finish, only Diego Rosa and Casey South of Torpado Kenda Factory were able to stay close to Alleman and Becking; in third place were Fabian Rabensteiner and Samuele Porro of Wilier-Vittoria, who were already making their calculations to dress as leaders before setting off for Cordoba.

At the Olivo Arena, the sun was shining to welcome Alleman and Becking, who raised their arms again after the inaugural victory in Bedmar.

Hans Becking, satisfied with today's result, explained the development of the stage: "Yesterday I had a bad day and we didn't have a tactic planned for today, but I felt good from the start and we attacked to make the race harder".

Wout Alleman, aware of the tight gap in the overall, was hiding his cards to take the lead: "We are all trying to take the overall lead...". "I have a plan... but I'll tell you tomorrow" joked Becking.

In the general classification, Rabensteiner and Porro took over from the then leaders, Seewald and Stutzmann, who finished fourth today. The Wilier-Vittoria Italian was cautious at the halfway point of the race: "The race is long, we have to keep fighting and we'll see how our legs respond in the days to come".

In the women's category, Janina Wüst and Rosa Van Doorn of Buff Megamo have imposed their hierarchy as leaders of the general classification and have commanded with an iron fist throughout the stage. Wüst and Van Doorn have sealed, with their victory, the double of Buff Megamo today in the Olivo Arena in Jaén.

Wüst, at the finish line, highlighted the strategy that led them to win their second consecutive stage: "The key to maintaining the lead was to stay in the lead of the race, there was a long and very technical climb".

Mónica Calderón and Tessa Kortekaas of Cannondale ISB have stood out with a good level, staying in second position throughout the stage and achieving a valuable podium that had been denied to them in the previous days. In this way, and taking advantage of the discreet performance of Lejla Njemčević and Terese Andersson of the Allebike Team, they took third place in the general classification. Txell Figueras and Claudia Peretti, Cannondale ISB, came in third, demonstrating the great consistency they had already shown in the previous stages.
